Society through the ages has always had its good side and it’s bad. Some people disagree with the laws of the past because of the persecution of the innocent. But the laws of today are so ridiculous there are more innocents suffering than there ever was.  The absolute lack of control has lost its power leaving the positive side of life feeling more and more insecure and unable to fight back. It’s a frustration that’s beginning to boil inside and a power that will eventually have to be satisfied.  What is the reason for this chaos and how do we put it right? The majority of us know the reason but are unable to do anything about it. We’re stifled by laws that suppress our instincts leaving us frustrated. Retaliation is impossible and it’s dangerous. History has proven that once you hit one end of the spectrum of suppression, there’s an explosion that sends you to the other. To me I see the nation at boiling point without movement, and unless the powers that be intervene, nature will do it for us.

I am offering a short synopsis and three chapters of my completed novel entitled ‘ The Dieing Embers Of The True Brit.’ It’s between 90,000 and 100,000 words in length.

            The drive behind the story is the sadness at seeing British culture dieing with its empire. Through history empires come and go and we are no exception, but there is no need to destroy our culture. I’m sorry to say that this is what successive governments are doing. 

             I highlight this in a crime story of how the two different cultures deal with modern day life.                                         

 SYNOPSIS

The main character of the story is born in a small village in the highlands of Scotland where time has stood still. Victorian values are still upheld and the church still has a grip on the people.

            Graeme Macdonald for the first time in his life leaves the village to pursue his life long dream. A life at sea and to sail the great oceans of the world. But he’s thrown into a culture that’s eighty-year s beyond his own and the shock almost destroys him.  His true grit and upbringing make him face up to the bitter disappointment with a determination that changes his life.

            Unwittingly, he is involved in drug smuggling and murder, and it’s only because of his unusual character that is so different to others, that people in authority know of his innocence.

            The story has an intention to show the slow change in society that has taken place over the last hundred years and the life styles that were once unacceptable,  now accepted as a part of our everyday lives.
