The planet Borbatrex is a strange planet, there is not just the one sun as is the case on the planet Earth, every Borbatrexian has their own Sun. The planet Borbatrex is entirely flat except for a pond and a pillar, three centimeters in diameter and rising vertically for four miles up into the orange sky where the six and a half moons permanently stay, the reason for this is unknown. The ground of Borbatrex is mainly luminous lime green, the Borbatrexian God of the ground did this as a joke after a wild drinking game with the Borbatrexian god of plain paper. Borbatrex isn’t spherical as you may think, it is triangular and just to annoy it Borbatrex hides behind the nearest planet to it at that time even although Borbatrex may be bigger than that planet. The planet doesn’t stay in the one solar system it moves from system to system so that it can’t be traced and so that it can’t receive any junk mail from that solar system.

Earth.
England.
The small town of Maltby.
It was six weeks since the newly-formed "Ian's Gang" had arrived on Earth, creating a furore not seen since the "Camillagate" affair, and they were having troubles. Never mind the fact they kept receiving visits from the CIA, MI5, MI6 and anyone else who felt like dropping in, never mind the fact they were treated as cosmic jokes rather than diplomats, never mind the fact the tabloid press seemed to have got it in for them with headlines such as "When are they going to change into ugly bug-eyed monsters or has it happened already and we just didn't notice the difference?", never mind the fact the most the local police (under the leadership of the new Police Chief, young Steven Brick) could find for them to do was chase lost cats, there was also the fact that the gang (with the exception of Banix and perhaps Sarah) resented being under Ian's command, and finally, the fact that were quite simply bored out of their skulls.
They would soon get all the action they desired...

"Pep talk."
"What?" Who exclaimed, throwing an incredulous look at Admiral Borusa.
"You think I, Captain James T. Who, need a pep talk?"
Who was seated in the office of the very grand, very powerful, and very spotty Borusa, who looked at him with some distaste. "Well, we don't often give command of Starships to eight year olds."
Who was genuinely stunned. "You don't?"
"No."
"What about Captain Kirk?"

The universe is a very large place.
This is because there is only one universe, as opposed to twelve galaxies,
solar systems etc.
The Milky Way is a galaxy.
That galaxy contains only one planet with reasonably intelligent life.
Earth.
That means we can definitely forget about the Milky Way.
Another galaxy is known as the Spiridon Sector, the centre of the Universe
as they know it. As far as this galaxy was concerned, any other galaxies
with potential allies/enemies were so far away as to be instantly
forgettable.
It was just them - and Earth.
Therefore, it was just them.

The Jinania project is a fiction based reality. It's purely original. The hard facts of life are blended with the laws of physics. It takes us from Sidhartha to Stephen Hawking along time axis and from absolute nothingness to the yet unexplored cosmoses along the space. As already said, it's a fiction based reality, means that it can be treated as a fairy tale a grandmother is telling her youngsters and at the same time it can be termed as a research paper.

It's a story of a hypothetical land based on the same set of rules like us but on absolute different system, like the system doesn't take into account eating, family and any other social relation in that fairy wonder land yet it does not violate the set of rules we follow, an absolute different concept. It explains the concept of physics, both at quantum level as well as cosmological level. It ranges from the superstrings to the parallel and the most recently discovered X-ray universes...

A science-fiction short story in around 14,100 words, this is the tale of Shelby who receives an odd gift from a complete stranger. It's a story of emotions, and what it might be like if they weren't hidden away...

Author:

Linda Eschler

Genre:

Fantasy

Time Period:

Near future, distant past, Medieval Europe, America of the Pioneer West

Locations:

Mythical island of Bliss, America, England

Budget:

Big

 Target Market/Demographic Focus:

Boys and girls 13-18, men and women 18-25.

 Logline:

What if Santa Claus didn’t exist as we fantasize him to be but, instead, could be awakened in each one of us? What if you woke on an enchanted island to discover that you were, indeed, the current incarnation of St. Nicholas and that your destiny was to change the world?

The Story:

When Nicholas wakes on an enchanted island called Bliss, he has no memory of his former life and doesn’t recognize the large house staff that’s so glad to see him.  He’s told by his guide Leo that he’s been transported from his life in the 18th Century to the year 2015.  He is the incarnation of the spirit of St. Nicholas.  Yes, there really was a St. Nicholas, and it is his unique spirit that strives to reach the best of all people once a year.  But once a year isn’t enough for a dying planet anymore.  His new mission will be to rescue individuals and families who are pure in spirit so that they may repopulate the earth.

The mission to change the world starts with Nicholas taking his own soon-to-be bodyguard from the ranks of King Arthur’s army.  Geoffrey is just as surprised as Nicholas was, but is intrigued and honored to be chosen among all of the world, indeed, all of time.  Together, the two men then set out to find others like them.

Their journeys take them to places like 1890’s Wyoming to rescue a frontier family facing massacre, the Titanic, and to modern day Lake Tahoe.  It is there that Geoffrey and Nicholas meet cousins Claire and Heather, women who will become their wives.  There’s nothing, it seems, that Leo doesn’t know.  Leo is truly otherworldly, and the father of Claire. He almost lost his wife (Ciara) and Clair when his enemies got too close.  Though Ciara died, Clair has been restored to him and is a big part of his plan for earth.  Since she and cousin Heather run an orphanage that’s closing, it’s only natural that the children will become part of the plans on Bliss.

It is to be a series of journeys to bring the new parents of the orphans to Bliss that will be Nicholas’ great challenge.  Because the end of the world as we know it is coming.  Floods, earthquakes and natural disasters of every kind will leave few survivors.  It is time for a new beginning, and Nicholas is ecstatic to be a part of it.  He always believed that love is the only reason to make any decision.  What greater way to save the earth and rescue those who deserve to see another day?

In the tradition of “Lord of the Rings,” and the Star Wars Trilogy comes a story of adventure, danger, and love where all that hangs in the balance is the fate of mankind on earth.  “Awakening Nicholas” will stir the pure spirit in anyone who reads it. Who knows, maybe it’s the beginning of a new era for our kind.

Prism is a planned trilogy. The first book, Exiles, is fully complete and in excess of 200,000 words, and was wholly written by me. It is the story of what happens when Luke Adams is unwittingly transported along with 500 other souls to a different world. It is the story of how they adjust to their new life and surroundings. Despite dissent and even murder, all seems well enough for the first year, but then they find they are not alone...
